Annual Fundraisers
Two times each year friends and neighbors from both far and wide as well as right next door flock to our “famous dinners” to enjoy great food and fellowship.  The entire parish family not only makes these dinners possible with their donations of time and talent and treasure they also provide the warmth that brings our visitor back year after year.

July Dinner
In 2011, we will hold our 136th Annual Chicken Dinner and Fair, sometimes known as the Barnesville Picnic.  The focus is our famous grilled chicken dinner with delicious sides.  To add to the taste buds we have an outdoor “fair” with games for kids of all ages, cake stand, raffles, and the Maryland state sport, Jousting,, to watch.  This annual event is held on the last Saturday in July.

October Dinner
In 2011, we will hold our 82nd Annual Ham & Turkey Dinner with all the trimmings.  A bake sale, craft table, and country store are available to start your holiday shopping.  This annual event is held on the fourth Saturday in October. Click here for more information.

Social Activities
Social activities don’t just bring people together to socialize, but also allows members of the community to meet new friends, while building on and sharing their faith.  Sharing a common faith provides a basis to gather, while working or playing at a common task.  Many of the activities at St. Mary’s are designed to build this type of community bringing people together and promoting a sense of warmth and belonging.

Donut Sunday
On the first Sunday each month from September through June you can find a delicious donut and some coffee or juice to enjoy with your fellow parishioners following each mass.

Parish Picnic
October provides a perfect setting for us to come together at an outdoor mass and then move on to a parish potluck dinner and entertainment for all to enjoy.

New Year’s Parish Celebration
Our parish family comes together to enjoy friendship, fellowship, and the New Year with a potluck dinner in the Pavilion on the first Sunday of the New Year.

St. Patrick’s Day Party
The St. Mary’s community offers an evening to enjoy a live Irish band, to watch an Irish dance troupe, and to partake in Irish food and beer.  There is lots of fun for the entire family.  Tickets are sold for this event.
